The buildings of the University of the Aegean are located in the city center of the islands. In this way, a double goal is achieved: the preservation of the invaluable architectural heritage of the Aegean islands and the integration of the University into the other activities of the host city.
With the support of the Chios community, the Department benefits from well-developed infrastructure and modern facilities, with ongoing programs for further improving and expanding this infrastructure.
The Buildings
- The Michalio Building, located at Michalon 8 (former Michalio Orphanage), with a total area of 3,069 sq. m. It hosts the main educational and administrative functions of the School. It includes 5 classrooms (2 large, 3 seminar rooms), the Library and a reading room, 2 computer centers, an audiovisual foreign language lab, offices for faculty and administrative services, student association offices, etc.
- The amphitheater of the School of Management Sciences.
- The Karradio building, at 54 M. Livanou Street (total surface area 1,427 sq.m.), was donated by the Women's Association "Friends of the Chios Village". It is currently under renovation. The new wing of the building (13 Mantika Street) includes two classrooms and faculty offices.
- The Korai building on Argenti Street, next to the Korai Library (total area 936 sq.m.) was granted by the Municipal Council of Chios and hosts the Department of Shipping and Business Services.
- The student residences (total area of 4,200 sq. m.) are located on land donated by the Ieron Tagma (Holy Order) of Saint Panteleimonos. They are located in a coastal area, at a distance of 5 km from the city center (Tagma Despoti area). The complex includes 6 newly constructed buildings, with 179 single rooms with private bathroom and common reception and kitchen areas per building.
The Library
The Library of the School of Management Sciences of the University of the Aegean is a branch of the Central Library, which operates as a unified service with a common policy regarding library science, material processing, strategy, planning, and development.
All Library functions are supported by an automated management system that operates in a network environment, allowing online access to the unified catalog of the Aegean Library (Mytilene, Samos, Rhodes, Syros, Limnos). Material orders and receipt are handled by the Central Library, while bibliographic processing is conducted by the branch, which has the responsibility for managing its collection.
The Library's collection consists of approximately 33,500 volumes of books and 106 titles of Greek and foreign scientific journals related to the subject areas of the School. Library users have electronic access to journal titles and can request books or articles from other libraries in Greece or abroad through the National Documentation Center.
Books are classified according to the Dewey Decimal System, follow Anglo-American cataloging rules, and are indexed thematically using the Library of Congress subject headings.
The Library has a reading room, equipped with photocopiers for users, as well as a microfilm-microfiche machine. Additionally, the Library area operates a closed circuit monitoring, an automatic fire detection and fire extinguishing system, as well as a security system.
The Library is lending. All members of the Academic Community and the wider public have the right to use the Library’s services, according to the Operating Regulations.

The Computer Centers
The Department of Business Administration, since the beginning of its operation, has a Computer Center, the equipment of which is renewed and expanded. The initial equipment of the Computer Center was funded by a donation from the Chios Federation of New York.
Currently, there are three Computer Centers in the School of Management Sciences, covering the permanent teaching needs for Informatics courses and for the courses requiring IT support. They also support the research needs of both teaching staff and doctoral candidates while they are available for free use by all students.
The Computer Centers operate daily from 9:00 AM to 9:00 PM.

The Audiovisual Foreign Language Lab
The Audiovisual Foreign Language Lab is a lab for practicing the English language and conducting the English courses of the Department of Business Administration. It is mainly used for auditory exercises related to the courses and for the auditory portion of exams. The equipment, donated by the Holy Order of Saint Panteleimonos, consists by 24 student workstations, a central console for the instructors, and a special space for storing the 24 cassette players for the students. The center’s operating system provides various remote control capabilities, intercom functions, group discussion features, etc., which are particularly useful for foreign language teaching.
Teleconference Rooms
In the Michalio building of the Business School, there are 2 fully equipped Teleconference – Distance Learning rooms (with interactive whiteboard, communication units, audio and video recording devices, etc.) which provide the possibility of interconnection with the other islands of the University of the Aegean, as well as with all the teleconference facilities both domestically and internationally.
